IEC Announces Delivery of the A5 machine to Lazer-Tech

International Electronic Components Inc. (IEC) is pleased to announce Lazer-Tech’s purchase of ATG’s A5 machine. This premiere tester of printed circuit boards provides enhanced measurement and quality testing prior to distribution to customers through the use of a tension shuttle and top of the line testing capabilities.

“We’re looking forward to the improved speed and quality of our current testing capabilities that come with the addition of the A5,” says Jamie Armitage, President of Lazer-Tech. “It will help drive our competitive advantage in the marketplace by improving productivity as our business continues to shift toward high mix low-medium volume multi-layer orders. The addition of the A5 to our current test department will help Lazer-Tech continue to deliver a high-quality product to our customers with shorter lead-times.”

IEC Announces New Sales Director, ITEQ Laminate Products for North America  

International Electronic Components Inc. is pleased to announce that Mike Muck has joined IEC as the Sales Director, ITEQ Laminate Products for North America. Mike is based in Southern California and has had a successful career spanning over 25 years serving PCB manufacturing customers with laminate products. He has managed and mentored sales teams and brings to this new role an in-depth knowledge of the industry, products and customers. He previously worked with other leading laminate manufacturing and distribution organizations. Mike will focus on growing the high-end, multi-layer laminate market. The higher layer count boards are ITEQ's sweet spot, and this is where their superior quality will pay dividends for our customers.

IEC Announces WKK Product Distribution Agreement for North America

International Electronic Components Inc. (IEC) and Wong Kong King (WKK) are pleased to announce a distribution agreement for North America. IEC has been awarded the rights to service and sell Multiline products in Canada and eastern North America, in addition to selling Akila products across North America. This will broaden IEC’s current product offering.

For customers, access to these products provides an expanded North American offering of tier one equipment, products, and services from IEC. “We’re looking forward to extending our relationship with IEC and they have proven their ability to service and supply our mutual customers over many years,” states Hamed El-Abd, President and Executive Director of WKK Distribution.

After a year of celebrations for IEC’s 50th anniversary with events in the US and Canada, we look forward to the year ahead and in anticipation of continued business growth in the North American market and finding new and innovative ways to continue to provide our customers with the right products and the right prices at the right time.

2016 was a very successful year for IEC, and we further invested in our supply chain expertise with the promotion of Blaine McLellan to Supply Chain Manager and new team members Mia Sun in our Toronto location. We relaunched our website and marketing programs, and expanded our North American footprint with the ITEQ product line to copper clad laminate customers.

 Looking forward for 2017, we will participate in various industry events, with our President Shawn Stone participating in a panel session at the IPC Show in February in San Diego and other events planned over the year, including our Customer Appreciation Night. We will continue to expand our social media program launched in 2016.

To celebrate their 50th anniversary milestone, IEC has launched a new website and created a company LinkedIn page. In addition, IEC has created two commemorative shield designs that celebrate the legacy of two important men who have come to symbolize what IEC represents. The first shield pays tribute to IEC founder, James Patterson Stone, (Jim) whose vision and inspiration started the business in 1966. The second shield celebrates long time employee, Randy Vicente, whose professionalism, knowledge and skills made IEC one of the most highly regarded companies in the industry.
 
“We are very proud of achieving the 50 year milestone,” says company president Shawn Stone. “It’s a testament to my father, Jim Stone, whose philosophy was simple: business is organized friendship. Our plan is to highlight that philosophy throughout the year as we celebrate the customers, suppliers and employees who helped us get here.”
